If Only She’d Known - A Message Meant For My Mother

psychic message from heaven

As told to Nationwide Burial At Sea by Kim Turri

I accepted an invitation to see John Edward, the well known psychic medium. It was a full house, as he usually fills any arena where he’s appearing. This evening I went along for the ride, not expecting anything and rather skeptical at that. But given the opportunity to be with my sister-in-law and some of her friends, it sounded like a fun night out.

Bolton Center - Bay Shore, NY

John begins his program announcing, “I may come to you with a message but the message may not be for you.” The first half of the show John Edward was nailing it and at this point I’m starting to believe. If anyone was going to come through, it would have been my grandmother, I never expected to hear from my grandfather.

Our family moved from Florida to Long Island, NY, to be close to my Uncle Johnny because of his illness, strep throat had caused his kidneys to fail. After living with my Grandparents for four years, I became very close to them.

During the second half of the show, John approches my row, and asks “Who is the organ donor?” I could feel my heart beating, I looked around to see if anyone else was responding and but I knew he meant me! I stood up thinking, How could he know that? John started by saying, “It was the lower half of the body and there were two transplant attempts. “The first organ came from his father and the second a lady from Pennsylvania.” I knew my grandfather was a donor but we were never told who the second donor was. I was only ten years old at the time and didn’t know much more. I knew Uncle Johnny was really sick, and we came to live in New York to be near him but he died. We were on Long Island four years, two years after Uncle Johnny passed when my mother’s grief and inability to accept his death caused her severe depression and she left NY. John Edward continued, “I just want you to know and this is very important, it had nothing to do with the kidney. Anti rejection medications weren’t available at the time, it had nothing to do with the kidney. It had nothing to do with the kidney, you understand?” John Edward was almost yelling at me, I’m like, “Yes I understand.” He went on to say, “Before I leave I need to acknowledge the September birthday at the end of the month”? I offered my birthday, September 5th. “No, at the end of the month, he insisted. “I don’t know, my grandparent’s anniversary was September 12st.” “No, at the end of the month”, now John is almost yelling at me again and I remembered, September 23rd. That’s Uncle Johnny’s birthday, “That’s the birthday they wanted acknowledged”. John Edward’s voice sounded relieved, I guess my Grandfather wasn’t going to let it go.

I got home that night excited to call my mother and tell her what happened, at first there was silence, then I heard her sobbing and she hung up. I didn’t know what to make of it; after all these years I found it odd that she was still so emotional. I let it be and the next day my mother called to explain. She said at the time, both she and her father were tested to see who would be the better match for a kidney transplant; it turned out to be her father. When that surgery failed, her brother’s medical team asked my mom, but because she was a young mother and had been told her’s wasn’t the best match, she declined. She was able to justify her decision based on the information she had, she wasn’t a good match. My mother never told anyone of this and kept it to herself all these years. But truth be told, she admitted she was simply afraid. Having major surgery back then wasn’t something to be taken lightly. In the years following Uncle Johnny’s death she was so remorseful and guilt ridden, she felt like a failure and found solace at the bottom of a bottle. Johnny was her kid brother and she would never know if her kidney could have saved his life. She moved back to Florida, but I chose to remain behind with my dad and to stay in close proximity to my grandparents. During the years of our separation from my mom, I visited with her and she with us during the long summer vacations. But now to learn decades later her torment and heartache wasn’t necessary.

Message from heaven

I’m happy to know Uncle Johnny and my Grandparents are together and doing well. Thank you John Edward for an experience I’ll never forget and relieving my mother’s burden of guilt. My understanding of spirit and those things we can’t see or touch has opened me to receiving more signs from Grandpa, I’ll share another time. Sign me a believer.

Psychic mediums like “The Long Island Medium”, Theresa Caputo, John Edward, and many others all say one thing in common: they tell us to Look for Signs From Beyond. These signs can take the form of feathers, birds, butterflies, dragonflies, objects and songs that resonate with us or hold a special meaning. Some smell the scent of their loved one’s favorite cologne or perfume. Some spirits come to us in dreams so real we can touch them and maybe we have.
